The Barth Syndrome Foundation's Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the mission and purpose of the organization. Its duties include participation in strategic planning and making policy decisions, then securing the financing of them and the monitoring of their execution. Members must be willing to attend the requisite meetings, follow through on commitments, and participate fully in the decision-making process. The board also presents the organization´s image to the community and solicits its support in achieving BSF´s goals. Members of the BSF Board of Directors serve three-year terms. Mark Greene
Mark is an experienced Chief Financial Officer in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors who now works as an independent consultant. Most recently, he was CFO of JDRF International, directing a staff of 50 to manage the finance, technology, facilities, investment and compliance functions of the Organization whose mission is to raise funds to support research and advocacy to cure Type I Diabetes. He has also held CFO and other senior financial positions for several companies in the fashion industry, including Coach Inc., and in various finance leadership positions at American Express.
Before joining the BSF Board in 2022, Mark served as a volunteer and wonderful team member on BSF’s Finance and Investments Committee and demonstrated his very relevant knowledge and experience. Mark currently resides in New Jersey, though he earned a BS in Business Administration at University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
