Give the Gift of Progress
This Giving Tuesday, the Barth syndrome community is coming together to keep progress moving forward.
There are many ways to be part of Giving Tuesday. You can make a gift, create your own fundraising page, invite your friends and family to participate, or simply help spread the word. We've put together everything you need to get started below.
Every Fundraiser Matters
Whether you raise $100, $1,000, or simply introduce someone new to the Barth syndrome community, you're helping expand the circle of people who know about and support this work.
Giving Tuesday is one day, but the progress made possible by this community reaches far beyond it.
Setting Up Your Fundraising Page
1. Visit the campaign and select “Become a fundraiser”
Open our Giving Tuesday campaign. Choose “Become a fundraiser” near the Donate button, or scroll to the Team Members section to find the same option. You can also use the share icons to spread the word.
2. Find the fundraising option
If you scroll down the campaign page, select the “Become a fundraiser” button in the Team Members section.
3. Create your account
Follow the sign-up prompts. Add a profile photo and enter the requested information, or sign in if you already have an account.
4. See your fundraising page
Once you sign up, you’ll have your own page with a fundraising goal and story. Select “Share & Manage” to personalize and share it.
5. Share your page
Use the Share tab to copy your unique fundraising link or share it directly through the available social and messaging options. Be sure to share your own page link when asking friends and family to give.
6. Invite donors directly
Under Invite Donors, enter a contact’s name and email address or phone number to send a fundraising request.
7. Personalize your story and goal
Select Edit Page to update your display name, fundraising goal, and story. Explain why supporting the Barth syndrome community matters to you.
8. Find your page and other fundraisers
Use the Team Members section to find your page or explore other fundraising pages supporting BSF.
Sample Messages to Share
Your story does not need to be long. Share what connects you to Barth syndrome, why you support BSF, and what you hope to make possible. Here are two ideas:
SAMPLE: I’m participating in Giving Tuesday on December 1 to support the Barth Syndrome Foundation! I’ve created a personal fundraising page, and I’d love your support. Whether you give or share my page, you’re helping more people connect with this important mission. [Insert personal fundraising link]
SAMPLE: This Giving Tuesday, I’m raising funds for the Barth Syndrome Foundation. BSF connects families, supports research, and advocates for people impacted by this rare condition. I hope you’ll join me in supporting this community and helping progress continue. Every gift and share makes a difference! [Insert your personal fundraising link]
Fundraising Tips
- Make it personal: Add a photo and explain why this mission matters to you.
- Start early: You can begin sharing your page before December 1.
- Ask directly: A personal email or text can help friends understand your goal.
- Share more than once: Post updates and reminders as Giving Tuesday approaches.
- Thank your supporters: A personal note goes a long way.

A Quick Note About Donations: Why am I being asked to leave a tip?
Our Giving Tuesday campaign uses Givebutter, a fundraising platform that offers donors the option to leave a tip to support its services.
Tips are completely optional. You can adjust or remove the suggested tip during checkout. Your donation to the Barth Syndrome Foundation is separate from any tip you choose to leave for Givebutter.
