Miriam L. Greenberg, PhD
Dr. Greenberg is a Professor of Biological Sciences at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. She is an expert on phospholipid metabolism in yeast and brings a wealth of knowledge about cardiolipin that has and will continue toadvance scientific knowledge about some of the underlying biochemical issues in Barth syndrome.
Miram joined our Scientific and Medical Advisory Board (SMAB) in 2005 and has been an important ember ever since. She has helped in the organization of several of our Scientific and Medical Conferences and frequently brings her family to attend as well. Starting with an originalfocuson cardiolipin and the yeast model system, she has been awarded 12BSF research grants over the years to explore various topicsin lipid metabolism that are relevant to our disease. She is a highly-respected researcher on the underlying science of Barth syndromeand has been successful in leveraging the BSF “seed grants” into additional, larger funding from other institutions.
