Laura Duvelius

Laura brings more than 28 years of strategic fundraising leadership to the Barth Syndrome Foundation, with a proven track record in building strong development and communications systems, securing major gifts, expanding donor pipelines, and launching legacy and endowment programs. Her work has consistently advanced mission-driven initiatives in rare disease and research-focused organizations. Prior to joining BSF, Laura served as Executive Director of Development at the Amyloidosis Research Consortium, where she led significant revenue growth and helped establish a research endowment.

Laura is passionate about connecting science with storytelling and engaging stakeholders across sectors. She thrives in partnerships with community members, boards, and scientific teams to improve systems that serve individuals, families, and communities.

She lives in Montana, where she enjoys life in a hand-built log cabin she’s restoring. Laura is a proud mother of four through birth, adoption, and love (pictured above). In her free time, she can often be found gardening, tackling DIY projects, or participating in local community life.
